Olivia Lanter is a senior undergraduate student at Elon University in Elon, NC. She is pursuing a double major in BFA Dance Performance & Choreography and BA Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. Olivia is a proud St. Louis native and began dancing at the age of two. She grew her repertoire at St. Louis Academy of Dance where she trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theater. Her performance and choreography skills have flourished in Elon’s BFA Dance Program. She has performed in numerous dance concerts within the program and produced major works of choreography herself.
She has spent summers studying dance in Florence, Italy and Los Angeles, California. Olivia also completed dance neuropsychological research and presented it in the Fall of 2023 at the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science Conference. Her passion and dedication to the craft spans across disciplines.
Artist Statement
I prioritize authentic creation. The ability for dance to freely form into a personal and unique experience is where innovation begins. I explore out of my own comfort zone because it is when we reach outside into the unknown that we create something captivating and grow as artists.
